Below Are Some Essentials For The International Move To Italy

Documents Required for the shipment of used household goods as well as personal effects –

• A copy of passport, residence certificate and tax code number
• The original bill of lading
• Diplomatic franchise that addressed to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• The original consular declaration
• A detailed inventory, has to be signed by the owner of the goods

Note: It’s strictly recommended that the owner of the goods must possess the 6 months from the date of establishing residency in Italy for the purpose of importing the household goods shipment duty as well as tax free.

Documents Required for the shipment of Motor Vehicles –

• A copy of passport, diplomatic franchise and telespresso
• Original registration and OBL
• Proof of the ownership of the vehicle, has to be more than 6 months
• An insurance that is valid for the circulation throughout Italy
• Residence certificate issued by Italian City Hall

Note: The diplomats are required to arrive in Italy at least 40 days before the vehicle import for obtaining the necessary documents for the duty-free customs clearance.

Some Items Restricted By Italy

Items like radios, televisions, video-recorders, stereos, DVD players, personal computers, etc. Should be listed with the trademark and serial number.

Some Prohibited Items

Tobacco, food items, sines, cigarettes, animal skins, cigars, non-prescribed, drugs, walkie-talkies, cordless electronics and more.
